Payments has been a key driver of Zalando’s customer satisfaction, growth and profitability almost from the very beginning. Zalando Payments GmbH (ZPS) provides more than 50 million customers across 25 European markets with an array of locally relevant payment options, as part of our broader convenience proposition with the help of our payment partners. We help to drive deeper customer relationships through locally competitive payment options (20+ payment options) that offer a seamless shopping experience for customers.


As Senior Partner-Manager (Payments) you will be responsible for onboarding new partners, managing existing relationships and driving improvements of our cooperation from commercial set up to product capabilities. The ideal candidate has experience working with Payment Service Providers and Product Management. This role reports to the Head of Product Management.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING) 

  • Strategy: Develop, maintain, and execute strategic plans on how to develop our cooperation with existing partners and potential new partnerships.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain a strong network with partners and enable structured relationship management. You confidently steer large meetings e.g. Business Reviews towards a desired outcome, you collaborate with empathy to achieve the targets; and you communicate transparently to manage your projects to success. 

  • Enabling Decision-Making: You will be responsible for writing and presenting strategic papers and presentations for senior management. You keep it simple and approach problems and opportunities with a logical and pragmatic mindset and evaluate potential against costs to develop a clear rationale for decision making.

  • Financial Planning: Support Product Management and Finance with cost planning, budgeting, cost monitoring as well as cost improvements. 

  • Negotiations: Set terms and conditions, ensuring a positive and commercially viable partnership.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF 

  • You have experience or background in payments e.g. working for a Payment Service Provider, payment consulting or a big merchant / marketplace.

  • You have enjoyed managing external partnership and love stakeholder management.

  • Negotiation is a joy to you and have done so for agreements, SLAs etc. 

  • You are a strategic commercial thinker with impressive analytical skills and critical mindset. You have worked with Product Management in the past and are comfortable also having technical discussions about partner integrations or similar.
