THE ROLE & THE TEAM:
The Product Data Quality team is looking for a talented Backend/Data Engineering Manager who has a passion for building applications at the intersection of data science and engineering. Our team consists of a great mix of both Data and Software Engineers, who work collaboratively with Product Managers and Applied Scientists, and are tasked with understanding, enriching and improving the product information (data and media content) for Zalando’s assortment of millions of live products. To achieve these aims we use a combination of Machine Learning, Rules Engines, Human Annotation UIs, RESTful APIs, Data Dashboards and Data Pipelines (using both batch and streaming architectures).
As an Engineering Manager on the Product Data Quality team you will work with your engineering team, and working closely with product and applied science teams, to develop across the entire stack to build, serve and monitor cloud-based data processing architectures that intelligently gathers ML insights from multiple independent data sources and combine them to identify and correct quality issues in our product information in a scalable and maintainable way. We work with a leading edge technology stack composed of Python, Databricks, Kotlin, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, Elastic Search, PostgreSQL and other AWS services amongst others - check our Tech Blog for more information on the technologies we use.
Teams at our Dublin Tech Hub work on many of the cornerstones of our Fashion Store. Through full stack engineering and research, we turn visionary ideas into new emerging businesses with real potential. By tackling diverse challenges for the fashion industry, we drive the personal digital experience and underlying knowledge models to create the most inspirational fashion experience for our customers.
