Our teams build and operate business-critical services that allow partners to connect to and sell within the Zalando ecosystem. As a Fullstack Engineer (Frontend Focus) in Zalando Partner Tech, you will plan, develop, test, and operate our core UX that allows our partners to seamlessly manage their inventory, stocks, and prices, helping them thrive within our business. You will act as a bridge between complex backend logic and an intuitive user interface, taking ownership of features from the database to the pixel.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING):
Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive, and scalable frontend systems for our partner-facing web applications, with a primary focus on React and TypeScript.
While your primary focus is the UI, you will extend backend services and adjust API endpoints as needed to support frontend requirements, ensuring you are not blocked by external dependencies.
Collaborate effectively with product managers to refine requirements and with UX/UI designers to translate complex B2B workflows into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that precisely meet partner needs.
Champion best practices in frontend development within the team. Write clean, modular, and testable code, and mentor other engineers who may be more backend-focused on modern UI standards.
Actively participate in the entire product development lifecycle—from initial concept and design through to development, testing, deployment, and operation—taking full ownership of your features and their impact on our partners.
Proactively identify and solve complex technical challenges, always approaching problems with a "Partner First" mindset to deliver solutions that simplify their daily operations.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU:
You possess proven professional experience in web development with a strong command of React and TypeScript. You have a deep and practical understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and the broader ecosystem of web technologies.
You have hands-on experience with modern state management libraries (such as Redux, React Query, or Context API) and understand how to handle complex data flows in data-heavy B2B applications.
You are proficient in building responsive and performant user interfaces that deliver a seamless experience across various devices and browsers, with a keen eye for accessibility.
You identify as frontend-leaning, but you are comfortable navigating backend codebases (e.g., Java, Kotlin). You can write or modify API endpoints and perform basic database queries. Proven experience working on backend microservices is a plus.
You have good communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working in an international and diverse environment with a positive no-job-is-beneath you attitude as a team player.
You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive, product-oriented mindset that drives you to seek out the best solutions.
