ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Project Manager in the Finance Projects team, you will be part of a small team with direct exposure to the CFO and Finance SLT. Our team is involved in the most impactful projects for both Finance and Zalando. We are a team of project and portfolio managers, with end-to-end ownership for project management on specific projects, and as a team, we own the Finance projects portfolio and collaborate with many stakeholders and teams inside and outside Finance.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)..

  • Project Management Expertise: 4+ years of end-to-end project management experience, leading cross-functional initiatives. You've mastered various methodologies (waterfall, agile) to deliver impactful results. Project Management certifications (PMP or Prince2) are a plus.

  • Exceptional Communication: You articulate ideas clearly and concisely, confidently communicating with senior management and diverse stakeholders. You excel at prioritization and tailoring your approach to project and team needs.

  • Strategic Problem Solving: Solutions-oriented with an objective mindset, you partner with stakeholders to identify and manage risks. You proactively remove blockers, manage conflicting priorities, handle escalations, and bring clarity to complex topics, ensuring projects meet quality and schedule.

  • Influence & Collaboration: You effectively influence decision-making, engage, and build collaborative relationships with sponsors and stakeholders to define scope, manage risks, and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Team Player: You contribute to a direct, constructive feedback culture, bringing positive energy, a constructive mindset, and a strong team-support orientation.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET IF YOU HAVE..

As a Project Manager in the Finance Projects team, you will:

  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects from ideation through delivery and handover. This includes end-to-end planning, defining scope, work packages, schedules, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and core team members.

  • You'll manage stakeholders, coordinate work streams, and maintain comprehensive project plans. This involves resource allocation, risk management, and effective communication across teams and with external partners.

  • You will be in the driver seat to consolidate recommendations to the project sponsors and SteerCo based on due diligence from your project or program.

  • You will act as a sparring partner for the Finance leadership team, jointly managing the Finance projects portfolio with your team. This includes alignment with other portfolio managers outside Finance.

  • You will support Finance communication activities, including the preparation of zInsights, project newsletters, and more.
