We're looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer (Java) to join our team at ZEOS and help us build such innovative solutions. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to the development and maintenance of technical solutions to extend our ZEOS Shipping capabilities to external brands and partners. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and make a real impact. 

You will have the chance to learn about the broad business background we’re working with. In line with the overall Zalando philosophy you will bring visibility and transparency to processes and thus have a huge impact on our customers and key stakeholders.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Contribute to Software Development: write high-quality, readable, and maintainable code under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with team members to achieve project goals.

  • Participate in Agile Processes: Contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Learn and Apply Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, learn about software design principles, and follow established coding standards.

  • Embrace Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

  • Problem-Solving: Assist in debugging and troubleshooting software issues.

  • Document and Test: Create and maintain technical documentation and assist in testing software.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), and understanding of programming concepts and languages, ideally Kotlin or Java

  • You have a very strong desire to learn and grow as a software engineer.

  • You thrive in environments where diverse perspectives come together to drive innovation, and you're eager to help shape our team's values and culture.

  • You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • You have an understanding of basic software development life cycles
