THE ROLE AND TEAM
Fulfillment Core within Zalando builds and operates systems that are at the core of Zalando’s platform strategy and ensure timely and correct delivery of every one of our customers’ 116+ million orders every year. As a Software Engineer in Fulfillment Core, you will shape products that build a foundational aspect of every fulfillment aspect by providing centralized capabilities around Inventory Offering. You will drive and shape interesting new projects and influence the future of inventory at Zalando. Specifically, you will contribute to high traffic and low latency APIs communicating stock information to various customer-facing applications.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Shape business critical projects that influence how inventory is managed inside Zalando and enable the growth of exciting new use-cases.
Design, develop, deploy, operate and improve software solutions with state of the art technologies.
You’ll work with various stakeholders to understand business context, and contribute to developing/customizing a relevant and scalable solution.
Be part of an agile team taking ownership of the whole development cycle - from architecture and design to testing, implementation and maintenance.
Shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have a deep understanding of microservice architecture, REST services, event based systems and API design in order to build scalable solutions
You have experience with a JVM based language like Java or Kotlin. Knowledge of the Spring Boot framework is a plus.
You have a good understanding of SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) and cloud architectures/platforms.
You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills as well as the ability to manage projects with many dependencies.
You work with the whole team to design better software and solutions while incorporating feedback and ideas from others throughout the solution design. You accept that the final design may differ from your own ideas and suggestions.
You deal with ambiguity by diving deep and balancing arguments in qualitative and quantitative ways.
