The Partner Tech team is at the heart of Zalando’s partner business, making a huge impact on Zalando's business, generating 34% of our total revenue. Our mission is to empower partners, from multi-million euro fashion brands to physical retail stores, by building a robust, scalable and intuitive platform. This platform seamlessly connects them with 50 million customers, enabling them to deliver high-quality, compliant and relevant assortments. We handle millions of transactions and product listings, developing innovative solutions that fuel growth. We are looking for two backend engineering interns to join our Partner Tech Offers and Logistics and B2C Invoices engineering teams based in Helsinki. Join us on this exciting journey and kickstart your career in backend engineering!
As a backend engineering intern on our Partner Tech Offers team, you’ll contribute to helping partners seamlessly manage their inventory, stocks, and prices through performant APIs and intuitive UIs, ensuring compliance with EU regulations while presenting attractive offers to our customers. With our system processing over 1 billion inventory data points daily, you’ll gain valuable insights in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable systems.
As a backend engineering intern on the Partner Tech Logistics and B2C Invoices team, you’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of tools that empower our partners to seamlessly manage their shipping operations. This includes working on tools for partners’ carrier configurations, backend services for shipment and label creation, and ensuring internal track and trace of parcels. You’ll also help enable partners to send B2C invoices to their Zalando customers, simplifying the financial process and contributing to a positive customer experience.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
Solid foundation in computer science: You have a good understanding of fundamental concepts like algorithms, data structures, and system design.
Proficiency in at least one JVM (Java Virtual Machine) programming language: You are comfortable coding in languages such as Kotlin, Java, or others. We’d love to see your GitHub link in the application.
Commitment to learning and self-development: You value continuous growth, proactively seek feedback, and are eager to expand your technical and professional skills. Learn independently with guidance from the team.
Effective communication skills: You can clearly articulate ideas, collaborate with teammates, and document your work effectively in English.
Flexibility in contributing across tech stacks: You’re open to working on different parts of the stack, whether it’s front-end, back-end, or infrastructure, and excited to explore new tools and technologies.
