Zalando Lounge is the fastest growing part of Zalando, now turning over billions of euros each year.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Lounge Scalability, you will join the team based in Berlin to contribute and shape the development of ML and data pipelines, following engineering best practices with a strong focus on operational excellence.
In a close collaboration with applied scientists, product managers and engineers you will build a wide range of ML based products for algorithmic optimizations throughout the assortment lifecycle in Lounge. They are used on a day to day basis in business processes to make major steering decisions that are crucial for further scaling Lounge business.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Develop and support automated, scalable ML and data pipelines, ensuring they run reliably and are scheduled appropriately.
Contribute to develop the full ML lifecycle for different kinds of models
Build analytical and operational dashboards to enable your team and stakeholders to make data driven decisions.
Contribute to the definition of best practices and set up proper tooling to support them, such as continuous integration/delivery, code/data quality, test coverage, etc.
Enabling the experimentation on ML models and optimization algorithms with efficient and scalable tooling
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have 3+ years of professional work experience with Data and Machine Learning pipelines and are an ML Ops expert.
You have strong programming skills in Python
You are proficient with state-of-the art software engineering practices
You have hands-on experience with relevant software technologies: Cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS & Kubernetes),relational database(Postgres, MySQL). Experience with ETL, data warehouses or data lakes is a big plus(Airflow, DBT).
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Pandas, numpy, Plotly, Jupyter Notebooks, Databricks) are desirable.
Interest in algorithms, machine learning, mathematics and experience in designing and developing corresponding optimization software systems
