Logistics moves fast. Chloé moves faster.
As Zalando continues to grow and evolve, so does our culture. Our Founding Mindset (OFM), first introduced in 2019, was designed to guide how we work together across the company. But it was never fully adapted for the realities of warehouses. Now, as part of a group-wide refresh, we’re doing things differently. For the first time, our warehouse teams have created a version of the OFM that truly reflects how we work, what we value, and what it takes to deliver – together.
Ever feel like your workday is a rollercoaster? For Chloé, that’s just a standard Tuesday. She’s a Team Leader at our Logistics Centre in Lahr, Southern Germany. Her world is Shipping. It’s the final hurdle. The last link in the chain before a Zalando package starts its journey to your door.
In this game, the clock is always ticking. Departure times are cut and dried. But Chloé doesn't just race the clock; she outsmarts it – because at Zalando, we exploit opportunities immediately.

Winning the race
"We are the last link," Chloé explains. "If parcels arrive late to Shipping, things get tight."
It requires a cool head and rapid-fire decision-making. But the real magic happens in the margins. Sometimes, luck is on our side. Express parcels get ready early. Drivers arrive ahead of schedule. A lot of people might see that as a chance to take a breather. Not Chloé.
"That’s our opportunity to delight the customer," she says. "We get those parcels out immediately. We don't wait."
From dock specialist to team lead
Chloé knows a thing or two about seizing the moment. She joined us four years ago, fresh from her master’s degree. She started as a dock specialist, organising parcels on the floor.
She didn’t stay there long. Just 18 months later, she stepped up to become a manager. Today, she leads a team of 30. She organises workflows, crunches transport numbers, and coordinates with colleagues from Berlin to the freight forwarders.
Never stop learning
For Chloé, seizing the moment isn't just about shipping speeds. It’s about growth.
She’s a French native living near Strasbourg, commuting across the border to Lahr. She thrives on the dynamic environment because it offers constant chances to learn.
Her advice to you? Don't let the resources sit there. "At Zalando, we have so many ways to develop," she insists. "Qualifications, certifications, feedback loops, idea workshops. We should seize these opportunities to improve."
Whether she’s managing a busy shipping dock or networking at events in her spare time (she’s a model, by the way), Chloé’s philosophy is simple: Spot an opening. Take it. Don't hesitate.
