THE ROLE & THE TEAM

This is a unique opportunity to build a new function from the ground up. At Zalando, our Fashion Analysis & Insights team is the engine that produces powerful analytics, frameworks, and reporting to guide our commercial strategy. However, the value of these tools is only realized when they are deeply embedded in the business. That's where you come in.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic leader to fill this newly created position. You will act as the critical bridge between our talented analytics and reporting teams and the core commercial functions of Buying and Merchandising. Your mission is to own the entire go-to-market lifecycle for our reporting and analytical products, driving their adoption, implementation, and ultimate impact.

This is a greenfield role for a true self-starter. You will have the autonomy to define your roadmap, build relationships, and shape how data informs decisions at the heart of our business. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Own the Go-to-Market Strategy: You will develop and execute innovative strategies to launch, enable, and drive the adoption of our analytical tools and frameworks across the commercial organization.

  • Act as a Strategic Consultant: You will embed yourself with our Buying and Merchandising stakeholders, from juniors to Heads of, acting as their primary point of contact. You will educate, consult, and build trusted partnerships to ensure they extract maximum value from our insights.

  • Be the Voice of the User: You will establish a robust feedback loop, systematically collecting, analyzing, and translating user needs into actionable requirements for our analytics and reporting teams, directly influencing our product roadmap and preventing "insight waste."

  • Drive Strategic Enablement: You will move beyond simple training sessions to design and lead high-impact enablement programs, workshops, and create compelling materials that empower the commercial teams to become more data-driven.

  • Measure Your Impact: You will define what success looks like by developing and tracking key performance indicators for your role, including tool adoption rates, user satisfaction (NPS), and the strategic integration of our work into core commercial decisions and projects.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You are a Proven Self-Starter: You have a strong track record in a "zero to one" environment where you successfully built new processes, defined your own role, and navigated ambiguity to deliver results. This is non-negotiable.

  • You have a Strategic & Commercial Mindset: You possess 5+ years of experience in a role that bridges the gap between technical concepts and business value, ideally from a background in Management Consulting, Go-to-Market Strategy, Corporate/Business Development, or Analytics Consulting.

  • You are Bilingual in Business and Data: You are fluent in the language of both commercial teams (e.g., buying, merchandising, revenue) and analytical experts (e.g., KPIs, models, dashboards and SQL). You don't need to be a data scientist, but you must be credible in both worlds.

  • You have exceptional Stakeholder Influence: You are a natural relationship builder and an outstanding communicator. You have a proven ability to educate, influence, and build trust with a diverse range of stakeholders, turning skepticism into advocacy.

  • You are passionate about E-commerce: You have a deep understanding of e-commerce business models and a genuine passion for the fashion and retail industry.
