As a Senior Project Manager in the Sustainability and D&I Team, you will be part of the Project Management Organization (PMO) which focuses on planning, communicating, monitoring, and delivering projects with significant impact and strategic relevance to Zalando's Sustainability and Diversity & Inclusion (SDI) goals. The SDI PMO Team plays a crucial role in achieving Zalando's vision: Enabling our ecosystem towards a more sustainable and inclusive future of the fashion and lifestyle industry. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Project Planning: You will be responsible for end-to-end project planning, defining scope, work packages, schedule, and deliverables with core team members, based on our internal Project Management Framework. We plan projects with the intention to have business ownership as a result.
Project Delivery & Impact: You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the project plan by leading the project team with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, providing clear direction through the project lifecycle. You proactively anticipate risks and try to overcome obstacles by identifying and removing bottlenecks, as well as challenging your project team to deliver the best solution and develop concrete mitigation plans. We guide the implementation of strategies within business ownership.
Project Communication: You will be in charge of ensuring that the project stakeholders are informed about the project progress, risks or delays, and any support required in a clear, constructive, and structured manner. You will be responsible for communicating and presenting to stakeholders up to senior level in the company.
Project Stakeholder Management: You will collaborate with stakeholders and experts to plan, coordinate & execute the project plan that generates value and contributes to project goals. You coordinate with program and portfolio managers and functional teams to ensure that the appropriate resources are allocated to the project.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: You will help us continually improve our project management processes and ways of working to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. You are welcome to explore new ideas and technologies (e.g. AI-based tools).
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
Education & Experience: You have a strong academic background (Bachelor's/Master’s Degree) and 5+ years of experience independently managing complex, high-impact projects. You have mastered project management methodologies and frameworks, especially in agile environments, to deliver impactful results.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: You have a sharp analytical mind with a hands-on mentality and a solution-oriented approach.
Collaboration & Communication: You possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, enabling you to interact effectively with stakeholders with precision, clarity, and empathy.
Cross-Functional Expertise: You have proven success working with cross-functional, multi-stakeholder teams in dynamic environments. You can act as the link between strategy and execution at different levels of the organisation.
Data-Driven Decision-Making: Ability to utilise data-driven insights and analytics to inform project decision-making, optimise project outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
Ambiguity Tolerance: You are comfortable with ambiguity and change, providing solutions to help drive decisions and move the organisation forward.
Team spirit: You contribute to a direct, constructive feedback culture and bring positive energy, a constructive mindset, and a team-support orientation to the table.
Good to have: A background in and/or passion for Sustainability and D&I: Experience in translating Sustainability and D&I strategies into projects, considering market/competitor landscape and supporting industry collaboration.
