THE ROLES & THE TEAM

We are looking for three new colleagues to join our Platform Conformity Sustainability & Environment team in the roles of:

  • EPR and Sustainability Analyst

  • EPR and Sustainability Operations Specialists (x2)

This team plays a key role in Zalando’s sustainability and compliance strategy. It is responsible for ensuring that our Marketplace, including Partner Program and Connected Retail, meets all relevant EU sustainability legislation and regulatory market requirements. The team also works to ensure that our partners’ businesses actively contribute to Zalando’s sustainability goals and drives the implementation of compliance operations to support adherence to evolving sustainability regulations.

As sustainability regulations, particularly Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the Green Claims Directive, continue to expand, we are strengthening our capabilities in both data and operations. This joint recruitment covers three new positions: one focused on analytics, the others on operations. These roles are crucial in helping us scale sustainable compliance across the platform, contributing directly to meaningful progress while gaining valuable experience in high-impact regulatory work. You’ll help shape how Zalando ensures responsible platform business and stays ahead of evolving EU sustainability standards.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

 If you're focused on Analytics...

  • Take ownership of the Marketplace Sustainability & EPR Dashboard, continuously enhancing it with integrated data from partner compliance, product assortments, and case management systems.

  • Analyze compliance data at both partner and article level to uncover risks, spot trends, and identify opportunities for operational and strategic improvements.

  • Lead and coordinate EPR reporting to Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) across EU markets, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Design and evolve KPIs and reporting frameworks that enable faster, data-driven decisions and support automation.

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses and risk assessments on sustainability claims and product-level data to ensure credibility, traceability, and compliance.

 If you're focused on Operations...

  • Drive day-to-day EPR and sustainability compliance operations, including partner screening, article validation, partner support, and enforcement actions.

  • Run corrective action plans, including blocking or reactivating non-compliant partners and articles in collaboration with Partner Platform Operations, Accounting, and Tech teams.

  • Manage second-level of support for Partner cases related to Sustainability.

  • Coordinate with internal teams on charge-back processes, audit preparations, and reporting workflows.

  • Support the development and implementation of scalable, automated compliance operations.

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Sustainability Managers on partner support and process implementation.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

You’re a great fit for the Analyst role if you have...

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in tools like Google Sheets, SQL, MicroStrategy, Salesforce, Datalake, or Superset.

  • Experience creating performance dashboards or conducting data-based investigations.

  • Curiosity and a strategic mindset, you like to understand both high-level goals and granular data points.

  • Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini) or scripting languages like Python are a plus.

You’re a great fit for the Operations role if you have...

  • A background in compliance, operations, customer care, article data, or accounting, ideally in a fast-paced or data-heavy environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in following standard processes and handling large assortments.

  • Experience or interest in case management systems such as Salesforce.

  • The ability to collaborate cross-functionally with partner-facing and internal teams.

  • A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
