THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As the Engineering Manager of the Customer-Facing Reporting team within the Zalando Marketing Platform, you will lead the end-to-end design, development, and operation of our partner reporting solutions. Our mission is to empower partners with actionable insights and performance data—enabling them to understand, optimize, and grow their advertising impact both on and beyond Zalando’s platforms.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Grow and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team at the Marketing Platform domain that can create and operate complex and distributed systems with narrow error budgets.
Spot opportunities for collaboration within Zalando to create synergy across different services and offerings.
Help to shape our Advertising platform, contributing to our vision, ways of working, processes, etc.
Simplify ways of working, align with other teams priorities and deliveries making us more productive while keeping engineers' engagement high.
Shape the cross-functional collaboration with our product, content, ad delivery, reporting and other disciplines required for the business.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have a strong manager track record in recruiting, growing, and leading engineering teams, with at least 3 years of previous team management
You can confidently drive cross-team & cross-functional projects and oversee major development stage gates from discovery to delivery
You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering and/or data engineering with strong tech expertise building customer facing applications.
You are experienced in high-level architecture & designs with Microservices, APIs, Data modelling and common patterns of distributed systems communication
If you have domain knowledge in the advertising, digital marketing, media or e-commerce industry, it's a strong plus
You are experienced in modern application infrastructure/middleware/libraries like AWS, K8s is a strong plus.
