THE ROLE & THE TEAM
The Language Services Team, an organisation within Content Solutions at Zalando, is responsible for delivering language localisation services across Zalando serving multiple internal and external stakeholders at scale.
As a Localisation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of localisation within projects, ensuring that content is accurately localised according to Zalando’s tone of voice and brand strategy. You will manage relationships with external vendors, monitor the quality of deliverables to meet both company and industry standards, and stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in localisation. Additionally, you will handle capacity planning, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated and that projects are completed on time.You will be looking to stay ahead of the fashion, beauty and lifestyle language curve in order to ensure that Zalando is perceived as fashion credible and inspirational, and provide a truly local language experience in all Zalando markets.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Manage language localisation assignments and initiatives end to end - from request intake to delivery, suggesting best fitting solutions leveraging multiple external resources.
Support other Zalando teams and stakeholders across various customer touchpoints and formats by managing their localisation requests by driving transparency of timelines and cost implications.
Apply customer understanding and Zalando business strategy understanding to identify best fitting solutions for specific requests.
As you will be responsible for managing multiple localisation assignments, we expect you to be able to prioritise them, drive efficiencies of scale and costs maintaining quality control.
Leverage and oversee external resources (agencies and tools) to deliver language localisations at scale, and recommend best fitting solutions for specific requests,
Be on the lookout for innovations within localisation solutions, putting Zalando at the forefront of industry.
Lastly, together with your lead and the team, you will define prioritisation principles and governance mechanisms for requests and assigning relevant solutions, optimised against factors of speed of delivery, quality and cost.
Our goal is to position Zalando as the starting point for fashion in any country by driving the customers to our propositions. As the language localisation is a key element of this approach and mandatory to drive customer relevance, you will be pivotal in achieving our goal, in an efficient and streamlined manner.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You are Berlin based or are willing to relocate.
You have significant working experience in a similar or related role, including project management responsibilities.
You've already gained language localisation related experience through working for an advertising, translation, media or the client side.
You are passionate about driving optimisations and improvements via innovations and streamlining processes and ways of working
You are a team player, well organised and feel comfortable steering several key projects with different stakeholders while acting as an owner & facilitator.
You are fluent in English (primary communication language in Zalando) and a native speaker and expert in one additional Zalando markets’ language (oral and written)
You love to work in an international atmosphere
You are familiar with working in hybrid set up and have a passion for fashion
Structure is one of your biggest strengths, you are proactive, always communicate clearly and meet deadlines
