THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a Frontend Engineer, you will be joining the team based in Berlin under the mission to define, own, and build the experience that enables our partners to succeed on our platform, creating a seamless experience for them that democratizes their access to the fashion market. Collaborate with partners to understand their needs and develop solutions that enhance their selling choices. Work with cross-functional teams to implement new features and processes that enhance our partners' experience. Help position Zalando as the first choice for fashion partners looking to succeed in the industry and shape the future of fashion e-commerce.
We drive both internal and external tooling using REST and GraphQL interfaces. The existing applications are written with the help of modern frameworks like React and our internal Design Kit based on Material UI.

Own the whole development cycle - from architecture design to implementation and testing and maintenance of our software solutions that have a direct impact on our daily business with our partners.

You will be delivering fully functional features and products that are well tested
You will collaborate closely with Product Management , Product Design and Backend Engineers to refine designs and functional requirements. You will create test cases to be verified during development and feature releases.
You will act like an owner and take an active role in reducing ambiguity, understanding business requirements, and translating them into technical solutions and requirements.
Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices, using feedback as a means of personal and team growth.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
ou have 3+ years of experience building applications with modern front-end technologies like React, TypeScript and Webpack, along with Node.js for Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) implementations.
You possess a strong understanding of core web concepts, semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful applications (GraphQL is a plus).
You are experienced with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Mock Service Worker, Playwright, and Storybook.
You have a good grasp of Git, CI/CD pipelines, E2E testing, micro-frontends, and basic knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/AWS.
You communicate complex technical topics clearly and propose well-structured solutions.
