THE ROLE & THE TEAM
Zalando is looking for a Senior Manager (all genders) to support the International Markets team, remotely in Poland, during a maternity leave of one of the team members. Our team consists of communications experts on various topics ranging from fashion to technology and logistics. In your role, you will work in the Markets team, steering local Zalando reputation in Poland and other chosen CEE markets.
This is a maternity cover with a limited contract until May 2028.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
- As a Senior Corporate Communications Manager Poland & CEE (all genders) in our team, you develop and implement media campaigns and strategies to both proactively tell both global and local stories and mitigate potential risks to Zalando’s reputation. You act as spokesperson for the markets you cover.
- Therefore, you know your target groups, are able to boil down complex topics, craft compelling narratives and identify opportunities in the media.
- You steer the work of local agencies supporting you with day to day activities.
- While working closely with your colleagues within Corporate Affairs (i.e. Global Communications, Public Affairs and Consumer PR) and act as a trusted adviser, partnering with relevant internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines and various management levels.
- As a strategic thinker and relationship builder, you steer multiple projects simultaneously and do not lose sight of your target in ambiguity.
- You are a creative team player with entrepreneurial spirit and are driven to develop new ideas and fresh formats.
- You identify potential risks and opportunities at an early stage and future-proof the company's reputation through relevant communication measures.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
- You come with extensive (8+ years) relevant experience in Media Relations in Poland and/or other CEE markets – ideally in corporate communications in a fast-paced environment and with a proven record in risk/crisis communication: You know how to handle sensitive topics confidently with media representatives and are experienced in strategic communications.
- Previous experience in retail / logistics / e-commerce companies is a plus.
- You have a proven record in risk/crisis communication: You know how to handle sensitive topics confidently with media representatives.
- You are a native Polish speaker, and with excellent written English skills; other CEE languages are a plus.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, with innovation and attention to detail.
- You are a team player with excellent problem analytical skills, empathy, curiosity, creative thinking and strengths in execution.
- You are confident in managing cross-functional processes and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- You have exceptional knowledge of local media landscapes and proven strong relationships with journalists in Poland and/or other CEE markets.
