THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Junior Category Manager in our Modern Budget Category, you’re part of a high performing team, creating new and innovative ways to connect people and fashion in our Offprice segment. You are responsible for branded buying, working together with your buying and planning teams.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Own Your Portfolio: Take an active role in managing your portfolio. Source new brands, negotiate the best terms for Zalando, and creatively shape your assortment while staying on top of trends and overseeing existing brands.

  • Drive Growth: Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers.

  • Embrace Trend Analysis: Lead the creative direction of your assortment by researching market trends and proposing innovative ideas that resonate with our customers.

  • Contribute to Strategic Development: Collaborate with the Category Lead to plan budgets and assortment strategies. Analyze performance and provide data-driven insights to guide decision-making.

  • Engage in Team Collaboration: Manage stakeholder relationships and maintain close communication with external partners and internal teams (Logistics, Content, and Fashion Store) to ensure alignment across the organization. You’ll work cross-functionally to drive sales and maximize profit.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have minimum 1-2 years of buying experience in the fashion industry

  • You have excellent analytical skills, knowledge in MS Office (especially Excel and formulas) and combining the passion for numbers with fashion and trends

  • Negotiation is in your blood, and you are always a compelling figure when communicating with suppliers and other stakeholders

  • You have a quick thinking and proactive attitude, which also means you keep on top of things in a fast-paced environment, while embracing collaboration. Being able to work in a team as well as being very independent

  • You have excellent written and spoken communication in English. German, Italian and/or French is a plus.
