THE ROLE & THE TEAM 

Zalando’s Logistics Product Analytics Team is looking for a Data/Product Analyst to help us deliver the best version of our Warehouse Management System (WMS) running in our European Fulfilment Network.

As part of our team, you will become an expert in logistics data and support product managers in data-driven decision-making for our WMS. Your main area of work will be to deliver complex root cause analysis and help create a solid infrastructure for data analysis in a collaborative environment. As a Data/Product Analyst, you will be the analytical partner for other teams including applied scientists, software engineers and product managers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You will partner up with interdisciplinary teams of applied scientist, software engineers, product managers but also local warehouse operations and be their Analytics go-to person.

  • You will create complex, but explainable data models from raw data for internal and stakeholder use.

  • You will execute quantitative analytics end-to-end with direct access to relevant tools/databases/sources to deliver clear insights.

  • You abstract complex problems into concrete steps before execution.

  • You will constantly learn from a wide set of stakeholders about a variety of topics related to improving logistics operations and apply your gained knowledge through data analysis.

  • You will also help our on-site operation teams with valuable ad-hoc analysis and reporting to effectively steer for an efficiently running warehouse.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have a strong drive and enjoy delivering results.

  • You enjoy piecing together how a complex system fits together.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in data analytics working with Engineering, Product or Applied Science departments with demonstrated impact.

  • You already have knowledge or share an interest in Logistics and are willing to dig deep into our logistics infrastructure and gather lots of domain knowledge in the area.

  • You have a strong understanding of statistical concepts.

  • You have experience designing and creating data models.

  • You have very advanced skills in using SQL, you are able to absorb and effectively use new or unknown data sources.

  • You have good knowledge of Python and an interest or experience in technologies like Databricks to crunch big amounts of data.

  • You are familiar with Visualization Tools like Microstrategy, Grafana or Looker Studio for visualization.

  • You have experience creating and understanding simple to more complex algorithms.

  • You are able to speak your mind to challenge the status quo, be clear & structured in your train of thought.

  • You are proficient in English (written & spoken).
