THE ROLE & THE TEAM
The ZEOS Logistics department is responsible for all partner-facing Zalando Logistics Solutions. By uniting these services under a single umbrella, we provide a more holistic approach to deliver the optimal fulfilment solution to meet our partners' needs, and leverage common services to enable partner program growth.
Over the last years, we learned that solving fulfilment-related challenges for the good of our partners helps us to fuel the growth of our platform. Strengthened by this successful growth, we have started the next step in our journey - expanding our business outside of the Zalando ecosystem, exploring both physical and digital services.
As the Operational Merchant Performance Manager at Zalando (Zeos), you will be accountable for optimizing operational efficiency, reducing costs, promoting education, and ensuring a positive partner experience. You will strategically set direction and goals, oversee stock control and KPI monitoring, and drive operational improvements of our merchants. Your role involves project management, communication, and stakeholder management, ensuring alignment and successful delivery of projects. Additionally, you will be a strategic sparring partner for your partners, supporting and guiding them to optimize operational performance within our ecosystem.
The Merchant Performance team at Zalando works collaboratively to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, promote education, and ensure a positive partner experience. Divided into sub-teams focusing on pre-delivery, in-house operations, outbound processes, and overarching projects, we prioritize operational excellence and strong partnerships. WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Strategic Portfolio Management: Act as the operational owner for a diverse portfolio of approximately 10-20 accounts, ranging from high-growth boutiques to large-scale enterprise merchants. You will balance daily operational excellence with long-term strategic projects that scale the ZEOS ecosystem.
Complex Data Steering & Reporting: Navigate and interpret complex data sets to provide clarity in a high-stakes environment. You will be responsible for in-depth stock management analysis, monitoring inventory health, and translating intricate performance metrics into actionable insights for both internal teams and external partners.
High-Stakes Stakeholder Communication: Confidently bridge the gap between technical detail and executive strategy. You will communicate with a wide range of contacts at our partners - from warehouse leads regarding operational minutiae to C-suite executives regarding business-critical performance and growth strategies.
Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as the "connective tissue" within Zalando. You will collaborate extensively across departments—Commercial, Logistics, and Tech—to ensure merchant needs are met and operational bottlenecks are cleared.
Product Evolution: Directly influence the future of our platform. You will partner with our Product teams to provide feedback from the field, helping to refine and improve our service offerings based on merchant pain points and logistical trends.
Operational Optimization & Problem Solving: Proactively identify underperforming areas in inbound forecasting and shipping accuracy. You will not just report on issues but will lead "improvement journeys" for partners, explaining complex logistical challenges in a way that facilitates change.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF...
You have a minimum 3 years in Partner Management, Supply Chain, or Operations, with a proven track record of managing a multi-account portfolio.
You are highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and are comfortable with complex reporting environments and have a knack for "telling a story" with data. Experience with SQL and MSTR is highly preferred..
You can pivot your communication style effortlessly, whether you are explaining technical stock discrepancies to an operational contact or presenting a business review to an executive.
You thrive in a cross-functional environment and know how to manage internal stakeholders to get things done for your merchants.
Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is required, German is a plus.
