THE ROLE & THE TEAM
Zalando is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Manager (all genders) to be based in Berlin and be responsible for establishing and improving the Health and Safety Standards across our logistics operations in Europe.
As part of our team, you will engage directly with the Health & Safety (H&S) management teams at our logistics sites (both those operated by Zalando and on our behalf). You will consult, challenge, coordinate, and audit all aspects of our H&S standards, supporting Zalando’s commitment to excellence in health and safety practices.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED…
Take ownership of the existing Zalando H&S Standards, ensuring their continuous improvement and providing the technical framework for their implementation across the entire logistics network.
Coordinate and perform H&S audits across logistics operations to identify systemic risks. Use your findings to challenge current practices and coordinate the implementation of corrective actions in partnership with various teams.
Development and execution of centralized, high-level H&S training programs and workshops, ensuring a unified safety language and systemic adherence to protocols across all sites.
Visit locations regularly to assess performance and implement action plans in accordance with local laws and culture. This role requires a valid EU driving license and the ability to travel approximately 30% of your time.
Liaise with Cluster managers, local H&S management and various other teams to ensure full alignment with Zalando’s vision, acting as a central technical expert for complex safety and documentation queries.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF…
You hold a relevant degree in Safety, Engineering, or other relevant field.
You have 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety (bonus for knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations). Significant relevant professional experience can compensate for a formal degree.
You have proven experience with ISO management systems (e.g.: ISO45001) as well as conducting formal audits in complex environments and the relevant follow up/CAP.
You have a track record in developing H&S workshops, procedural documentation, and SOPs from scratch, with the ability to make technical topics engaging and easy to understand.
You are a highly motivated person who is passionate about collaborating in international teams with a multitude of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds (logistics management, H&S management, operational teams, etc.)
You have an excellent command of the English language + another European language. A good command of German is a significant plus for navigating local regulatory contexts and site-level communication.
You are an open-minded individual who embraces diverse perspectives, fostering a collaborative environment to drive innovation and excellence in health and safety practices within our logistics operations.
You are keen on using data to base decisions on. You possess strong analytical skills, high proficiency in G-Suite/MS Office, and the ability to learn new digital applications quickly.
