THE ROLE AND THE TEAM
You will join the Ads & Campaigns team within Zalando's vital Performance Marketing department. We are at the heart of the Market organization, responsible for delivering personalized product updates and compelling content to millions of customers.
Historically focused on back-end excellence (using Scala and Python), our team has recently taken on a mission to optimize the end-to-end customer journey. This means your work will directly contribute to the core Zalando customer-facing website, blending our deep back-end expertise with critical front-end innovation.

Drive one of our big bets by developing performant React features on the Zalando website specifically for our high-value Performance Marketing audience.
Dive into exciting back-end challenges, working with Scala and Python to design and improve the systems that send product updates to personalize our marketing campaigns.
Collaborate closely with our product and design teams to translate creative ideas into polished, high-quality code that directly affects customer satisfaction and business results.
Expand your skill set by occasionally touching our mobile projects, leveraging your React Native knowledge (or learning it!) to ensure a seamless experience from web to app.
Be a proactive voice in our team, bringing fresh ideas to the table about new technologies and ways to improve our frontend development process and overall code health.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

You have substantial hands-on experience (2-3+ years) creating and shipping high-quality, scalable frontend applications, especially using React.
You own your code and are passionate about writing well structured, readable, and maintainable code that’s covered by automated tests.
You embrace agile software development practices, and support others through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
You have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate respectfully with others by listening, communicating clearly, and actively sharing knowledge.
You always put yourself in your customer's shoes and therefore you take pride in developing user-friendly and high-class features.
