THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Are you passionate about ethical standards and eager to make a significant impact in a dynamic, forward-thinking company? At Zalando, we're seeking a Junior  Compliance Manager to join our Corporate Compliance team. The team maintains the group-wide Compliance Management System. Amongst others, they take care of ensuring that our internal employee-facing processes comply with legal requirements such as anti-corruption regulations. In supporting that team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our day-to-day compliance operations and thereby the Zalando Compliance Management System. You'll coordinate and answer compliance-related questions, support training and investigations, as well as help keep our policies up to date and have the opportunity to support your team in managing compliance in national and international locations.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You’ll support your colleagues in serving as the internal point of contact for incoming compliance-related requests from across the group, guiding our stakeholders and making sure that stakeholders receive solution-oriented advice. You’ll thereby make sure that requests are handled smoothly and efficiently.

  • You’ll support the organisation and facilitation of mandatory compliance training. 

  • You’ll assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies.

  • You’ll continuously amend communication material, making sure that information provided is up to date and in accordance with applicable laws and standards.

  • You’ll support your colleagues when following up on potential misconduct. 

  • You’ll continually utilise data-driven insights to optimise your team’s effectiveness. 

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You gained first professional experience in Compliance, ideally within a fast-paced, innovative environment

  • You have a strong understanding of legal and compliance industry standards (e.g. anti-corruption regulations, IDW PS 980, ISO 37001) 

  • You have an analytical mind, and at the same time, are able to break down complex situations to provide practical solutions. 

  • You hold an academic degree in relevant fields, usually either a Master's or a State Examination degree in Law or Economics. 

  • You enjoy communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders, while your communication is precise and target-group oriented. 

  • You demonstrate strong organisational skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
