Zalando’s Product Quality and Safety department is looking for a Product Sustainability Manager to support execution of operational tasks to ensure products offered by Zalando meet customers' expectations and comply with Zalando Sustainability Standards and EU Regulations.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Following established processes you will oversee regular audits/compliance verification on the WHS assortment ( Footwear, Textile, Accessories,..etc) to prevent product greenwashing claims and sourcing by reviewing product sustainability certifications and claims ( Green claims / Product Sustainability Claims) in close collaboration with our sustainability experts.
You'll maintain existing processes and establish new processes to safeguard product sustainability compliance and implementation of the compliance management system into existing structures while defining key performance metrics and tracking process and Partner performance.
You will assist Senior Sustainability Manager in partner development and conceptualize training materials on the product sustainability claims (mainly Green Claim certification and requirements) and guidelines for both internal and external stakeholders regarding requirements for operational processes closely collaborating with our sustainability experts.
You will own the process of Green Claim removal and incident management on Product Sustainability Claims and manage escalation paths to subject matter experts and/or Legal, as required to ensure rigorous compliance with Zalando and EU standards.
You’ll liaise with external service providers as well as internal Product Tech Teams to support the process of claims verification.
You’ll support the continuous improvement sustainability compliance initiatives for your area of responsibility to ensure robust standard processes and operational excellence.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have a strong working knowledge and good grasp on the EU requirements & Sustainability Product Claim requirements (verification & certification) applicable to Zalando product range ( Textile, Footwear, Accessories,..etc.) - CSDR(EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), Greenwashing Directive, Green Claims Directive, EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation
You understand product lifecycle, consistently demonstrate strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills with the declared intention to drive improvement & prevention initiatives.
You are curious to develop regulatory and technical knowledge for the new & any updated regulations in the field across EU or any individual markets.
You have excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills in both written and spoken English.
You are a proficient user of Gsuite, MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word), project management applications.
