Product Design at Zalando is a community of 200+ product designers, content designers, and user researchers. 

The Loyalty design team, based in Berlin and Dublin, is creating customer-centric loyalty experiences. You’re coming in at the  start of our new loyalty journey, and will play a critical role in ensuring that customers feel rewarded, delighted and satisfied with the program no matter where they are in their customer journey. 

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

 We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer who excels in visual design and craft while having an experimental mindset. You are passionate about designing and delivering customer-centric  solutions that delight customers and that are aligned with business strategy. You have a keen eye for detail, visual design trends, and an appreciation for how art direction, illustration or motion design can elevate the overall experience. 

While strong foundational UI/UX skills are a must, experience with design experiments, concept design methods, and conducting user research will help you succeed. 

Collaboration and communication are at the heart of this role, as you’ll partner with principal and senior principal product managers, engineers and other designers to grow our loyalty program into a delightful and attractive experience. 

As a customer-focused design role model, you will contribute to the Zalando Product Design community and the larger European design industry by sharing best practices, mentoring and teaching colleagues, crafting best-in-class solutions, bar-raising in design reviews, and sparking inspiring conversations.

  • You have a proven track record of designing visually rich, customer-facing digital products, and you’re comfortable owning the visual language of a product from concept to execution.

  • You excel in visual storytelling and craft, with a refined aesthetic sensibility and an ability to elevate design through hierarchy, typography, color, and layout.

  • You’re excited to work at the intersection of brand and product — understanding how visual systems support user goals and business objectives.

  • You’re hands-on with prototyping tools and design systems and know when to follow and when to break the rules to craft delightful, memorable moments.

  • You thrive in collaborative environments and can communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders, engineers, and other designers.

  • You bring a growth mindset and value experimentation — you’re not afraid to test bold ideas, learn from data, and evolve quickly.

  • You advocate for accessible, inclusive design and are passionate about creating experiences that are intuitive for everyone.

  • You mentor others and raise the quality of work across the team by giving thoughtful feedback and sharing your craft.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Shape the experience and visual direction of loyalty touchpoints across the Zalando experience — from concepts and experiments to polished, high-fidelity UI.

  • Partner with product, engineering, and brand teams to build a cohesive and emotionally resonant customer experience that drives engagement.

  • Translate problem definition, complex ideas and business goals into clear, elegant design concepts that surprise and delight.

  • Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new features, being literate in motion, transitions, and microinteractions to bring moments of joy.

  • Contribute to and evolve Zalando’s design system by proposing new patterns, components, and visual principles where needed.

  • Share knowledge, inspire others through design reviews and critique, and push the visual quality and conceptual ambition of your team’s work.

  • Support a culture of feedback, co-creation, and continuous learning by facilitating workshops and design sprints.
