THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As Principal CRM Product Owner you sit at the strategic intersection of platform’s end-user experience, data, and technology. Your mission is to turn Zalando’s multi-cloud Salesforce landscape into a growth engine that delights customers, unlocks operational excellence for 1500+ internal users, and keeps us years ahead of market expectations. You will craft and own a multi-year platform vision, secure executive sponsorship for high-return bets, and translate that vision into concrete roadmaps, governance models, and success metrics. Reporting to the Head of CRM, you will partner with senior engineering, data, design, marketing, and compliance leaders to scale innovative features from first idea to enterprise-wide adoption while safeguarding data quality, privacy, and system health.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Be on top of the emerging CRM technologies (AI-driven personalisation, CDP, composable commerce APIs) and run proof-of-concepts that evolve into production-ready capabilities.

  • Own platform’s data governance & compliance, drive roadmaps, maximise adoption & change readiness

  • Own CRM platform ecosystem across partner lifecycle, end to end.

  • Define & track platform KPIs (conversion, pipeline velocity, service response time, licence efficiency) and present actionable insights to senior management

  • Work with Engineering Managers, Program Managers, and Process Owners to sequence releases, balance tech-debt versus innovation, and unblock critical dependencies.

  • Community and thought leadership

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • 10+ years in the field of CRM with at least 5 years owing an enterprise CRM; proven delivery of multi-year, high ROI roadmaps.

  • Deep Salesforce ecosystem expertise (Sales, Service, Marketing, and/or Experience Cloud). Salesforce Certification in Sales and Service cloud is a bonus.

  • Strong track record of developing CRM strategies that are deeply rooted in and directly support overall business goals. 

  • Commercial acumen & P&L mindset - driving platform decisions to impact revenue growth, and long term value

  • Demonstrated people & stakeholder leadership – skilled at coaching PMs, negotiating with heterogeneous senior stakeholders, and cultivating a culture of open, positive communication.

  • Excellent storytelling skills – your written docs and on-the-spot presentations are cited for clarity and persuasive power.

  • Comfortable working in agile / DevOps environments, balancing rapid iteration with system reliability, technical debt management, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Passion for fashion-tech and the opportunity to redefine how millions of customers engage with Europe’s leading online platform for fashion and lifestyle.
