THE ROLE & TEAM

As a Junior Assortment Data Analyst, you will play a key role in our Fashion Analysis & Insights team at Zalando, you will support Merchandising and Buying teams take data-driven decisions and achieve our ambitious targets. For example, these colleagues will come to you to ask which part of the assortment is bringing value to our customers, to our partners and to Zalando. With sophisticated analysis, you will be able to understand our customer’s preferences for our most loved brands and suggest decision strategies. Your analysis will impact how we make assortment decisions and how we deliver what our customers love.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Bring the data-driven analytical approach into the Zalando Customer Propositions in order to evaluate assortment that is (locally) relevant; you generate hypotheses and try to test them by performing descriptive, exploratory and quantitative analyses. You can translate data into actionable insights for the business. You know when a hypothesis can only be tested by an experiment, and you can help create and drive them

  • Collaborate with wider Zalando data teams; you can incorporate data from different sources within and outside of Zalando to drive projects in the category which aim to maximize potential and improve accuracy on budget investment decisions, supported by data visualization and storytelling

  • Acting as a reliable partner for our Merchandising and Buying teams when related to reporting and analytics, especially through more complex analysis. You can take full ownership of the analytical working streamline of the project, evaluate feasibility of deadlines and drive the discussions towards accrued valued outputs

  • Support our reporting team in automating and improving reporting tools to ensure the data flow is accurate and timely

  • You proactively foster Innovation inside the Customer Proposition; you independently assess and challenge the status quo to propose new ideas, data pipeline improvements or new automations

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU

  • A candidate who is eager to work with big data and keen on understanding of KPI dynamics 

  • A degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or quantitative social science 

  • Knowledge and strong interest in statistical methods and modelling

  • Proficient expertise in SQL and Python.  Experience using advanced tools like Databricks and PySpark is considered as a plus

  • You enjoy working cross-functionally, trying out new approaches

  • You are not afraid to make an impact, spot inefficiencies and make improvements with a hands-on mentality, a person who seeks to find solutions to challenges. You are proactive, can adapt quickly to changes and always remain focused on our quality objectives
