THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

As an Energy Manager (all genders) at Zalando, you will play an important role in evaluating and optimizing our energy consumption across various sites in an existing team. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our monitoring and reporting systems, contributing significantly to our optimized Energy Management System. In our Energy & Sustainability team, we meticulously track energy consumption, both from consumption and production standpoints. Leveraging this data, you will be at the forefront of identifying potential energy savings and implementing strategic measures. Your contribution will be key in driving our commitment to making Zalando increasingly sustainable and energy-efficient.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

Data Analysis & Optimization:

  • Analyze energy consumption data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization potential.

  • Develop and implement KPIs to track energy performance.

  • Utilize data analysis tools to forecast energy consumption and identify savings opportunities.

Energy Management System:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 standards.

  • Maintain and update the energy management system documentation.

  • Monitor energy consumption and identify areas for improvement.

Project Management:

  • Independently manage small to medium-sized energy efficiency projects.

  • Support the implementation of larger projects, such as the Smart Meter project.

  • Coordinate external consultants for feasibility studies.

Data Acquisition & Reporting:

  • Optimize data acquisition processes and implement new measurement technologies.

  • Create reports and presentations to communicate energy performance and progress towards goals.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with technical staff and other departments to implement energy-saving measures.

  • Conduct training sessions for employees to raise awareness for energy efficiency.

  • Coordinate energy management activities across all Zalando locations.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • A degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Energy Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Professional experience in energy management.

  • Profound knowledge of energy management software systems and advanced skills in data analysis.

  • Experience in developing energy efficiency strategies based on analytical insights.

  • Technical understanding of energy systems and equipment, as well as data analysis methods.

  • Ability to effectively visualize data and present it to support management decisions.

  • Strong communication skills to convey complex data and energy concepts to a diverse audience.

  • Fluent in English and German
