As part of the Zalando Partner Marketing (ZMS) Commercial Team the Senior Strategic Development Manager is responsible for the Business Development and launch of defined new marketing offers for Zalando Partners. This position ensures a competitive, innovative and profitable product/service offering to drive ZMS growth by meeting the current and future needs of our top partners with advertising solutions that excite and engage Zalando consumers.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Identify, evaluate and develop new strategic partner marketing opportunities through building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across the Zalando organisation. Evaluate the impact, scalability and required effort via business cases to assess the value of these new opportunities for the ZMS Strategy and Zalando’s Group Strategy.
Drive cross-functional, cross-departmental projects - from structuring and defining the project, through creating the project plan to implementation and launch.
Stay abreast of and share industry, competitors, and consumer behaviour trends that can shape future offer development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Environment understanding Build a solid understanding of our environment, including Market analysis (market, industry and competitor analysis, definition of research needs, trend and innovation monitoring), and Customer and Partner analysis of needs and behaviour (including the definition of target Partner profiles for advertising offers). Use this data, metrics and information to formulate relevant hypotheses to analyse complex challenges, draw conclusions and provide recommendations for future offer development.
Commercial strategy Support the creation of the commercial vision, short - long term strategy and planning for defined initiatives. Contribute to the definition of goals and targets in order to measure progress and success. Manage medium to large size strategic projects with complex challenges and multiple work streams to deliver customer and business impact.
Project Management Autonomously manage project teams to develop new partner offers. Ensure a high level of both internal and external stakeholder expectation management. Determine project critical paths, transparent accountability of tasks (including supporting the Go-To-Market strategy), and creating clear communication channels to achieve successful results and on-time delivery.
Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely within cross-functional teams ranging from Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Partner Consultants, Media and Creative Managers to Marketing Managers depending on the specific project. You are able to build and maintain strong relationships with your stakeholders.
Steering Support monitoring and reporting on growth figures and adoption rates, and progress against target achievement for new offers. Use this data together with your understanding of the Business Environment to uncover core challenges and opportunities, creating crisp and compelling documentation to support your initiatives, and aid decision making at senior management level.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF...
You have at least 5 years experience in a business development, strategy, consultancy or related roles, ideally in Fashion Tech, Fashion, E-commerce, Tech or a Media company with demonstrated top performance.
You pair your analytical and problem-solving capabilities with your strategic mindset and your ability to dig deep into the details (e.g. product adoption on partner level), but also elevate and see the helicopter-view perspective, to connect the dots and identify unrealised business opportunities (e.g. new strategic partner opportunities)
You have excellent stakeholder management skills and can collaborate effectively with diverse functions and levels of seniority.
You are a strong communicator, able to both convince others with your perspective and create compelling documentation that’s adapted to the needs of the audience.
You use project management skills to effectively drive projects and build alliances, to lead cross-functional teams across the organisation.
You have a hands-on mentality, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment dealing with many topics simultaneously.
