THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Positioned at the bustling intersection of e-commerce and fintech, Zalando Payments enables Zalando’s 50M+ active customers to pay with security and convenience and process the payout for 5K+ merchants to receive their funds on time.

It’s an exciting time to join our team and be part of a product-driven environment. That’s why we’re looking for a seasoned Principal Product Analyst to shape our product strategy through deep quantitative analysis. In this role, you will focus on optimizing partner solutions, driving insights in areas such as billing and invoicing processes, and enhancing the payment experience for our partners. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring that our financial products are not only efficient but also align with the evolving needs of our partners.

Are you driven by data, constantly asking “why” to uncover deeper insights? Do you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn analysis into impactful product decisions? If so, let’s talk about how you can make a difference in our partner ecosystem.

INCLUSIVE BY DESIGN

At Zalando, our vision is to be inclusive by design. And this vision starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. You are welcome to leave out your picture, age, or marital status from your application. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit.

We want to provide you with a great candidate experience. Feel free to inform us of any accommodations you may need, so we can best support you throughout the hiring process.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Create a strategy, align with key partners, generate insights, deliver analysis, and deliver ongoing improvements independently for an ambiguous problem.

  • You will collaborate cross-functionally and proactively with colleagues on product releases and operational improvements.

  • You will translate data into recommendations that stakeholders can understand, guiding decision-making and building strategic consensus.

  • Be a data explorer, an educator, and a partner in decision making.

  • You will define key metrics for the whole team to orient action and track our progress

  • Develop in-depth analytical understanding of what drives growth for the product and how it can be improved.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have 5+ years of experience driving digital product development through data, with a demonstration of initiative and impact (experience in business intelligence or analytics engineering/data engineering may be considered, so long as some product experience is also present)

  • You are able to simplify technical complexity into clear and concise communication with teammates and stakeholders

  • You show ownership of what you do, caring about the correctness of your work and keeping tabs on the health of the product domains for which you are responsible

  • You possess advanced SQL ability; Python or R knowledge is a plus but not required

  • Nice to have: experience in data models and ETL process creation; experience with BI/visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, SAP SAC, PowerBI etc.
