As part of our "Competence Center eCommerce Law", you will actively contribute to provide the legal framework for any current and future eCommerce related activities. In this role you will support Zalando’s Product Design, Tech and Markets team and ensure that the development of any customer facing functionalities and new offer and service launches meet the legal requirements in terms of transparency, consumer law and unfair competition requirements from the beginning. You will be part of an exciting wider team that is also responsible for legal issues relating to Social Commerce, Logistics and Transportation, Trademark & IP as well as Product Safety Compliance and Sustainability.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Provide legal advice and act as legal first point of contact for multiple teams when launching new customer journey features, such as changes to the modifications to the product pages and the checkout.

  • You take ownership of customer facing legal documents such as T&C, Imprints and Revocation Information for all Zalando markets and ensure their compliance with local law changes.   

  • You act as the first point of contact within Legal for local market expansions or the introduction of Loyalty programs within the EU and provide the legal input to the respective Markets and Project Management teams after alignment with local advisors. 

  • You advise the marketing teams in conducting compliant email marketing in close collaboration with our Legal Data Privacy Team. 

  • You manage eCommerce and Consumer law related litigation and investigations for all Zalando markets (in close collaboration with external counsel). 

  • Work within a leading European fashion and lifestyle platform to solve new, innovative  approaches  - both legally as well as operationally.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have successfully completed state exams with above-average results, or a comparable qualification from another European jurisdiction.

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience from a law firm or a company in the area of eCommerce operating in a (EU) multiple markets environment.  

  • You have knowledge in the area of unfair competition law, consumer law, eCommerce law and at least basic experience in dealing with Omnibus Directive related matters.

  • You have experience and a talent to efficiently manage multiple local external advisors and the ability to translate their input into pragmatic and workable solutions for our Business teams. 

  • You have an excellent command of English.

  • You are interested in familiarizing yourself quickly with the issues mentioned and a talent to manage different projects at the same time efficiently.

  • You are also interested in the economic and business context.

  • You enjoy taking on new challenges, thinking and acting quickly and managing and initiating projects independently.
