THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Org Design team is an expert function within P&O . We work as consultants to team up with senior executives on large business transformation projects, focusing on operating model and org design changes. In addition, we drive the overall organisation development by owning the Zalando group frameworks for strategic workforce planning and organisational effectiveness.

The purpose of the role is to ensure 1) sustainable organisational design with a focus on the structural setup of our overall business (operating model), 2) Execution of organisational changes, 3) better planning of our organisational and strategic workforce development, and 4) better governance of our organisational practices. The role is an individual contributor role, with no team leadership responsibilities. However, as a Principal you would be leading projects and the development of OD products (like strategic workforce planning).

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Develop Zalando's strategic workforce capabilities; the product and related practice. Driving the end to end development and implementation of the group SWP framework and process, and related metrics, tools and enablement

  • Drive own lighthouse projects including, advising senior executives and their leadership teams on how to approach operating model changes by 1) identifying key problems to solve and key stakeholder (groups) to involve in the process 2) leveraging centrally available tools to design fit for purpose operating model solutions, 3) advising senior (executive) leaders and stakeholders on their role through the process, including how to manage change

  • Maintain toolkits, guidelines, and policies and our overall knowledge base with approaches used for our broader organisational design practice;

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have worked in a consulting capacity, either internal or external to executive level leaders, and can come from different functions, companies, and industries

  • You bring minimum 8+ years of org design or business transformation experience working in bigger transformational programs and ideally operating model changes and org design projects

  • You evaluate work experience, based on following criteria 1) complexity and scale of business problems solved, 2) exposure to and collaboration with senior executives, 3) independence in job, 4) Experience related to Strategic Workforce Planning

  • You will be responsible for structuring complex org / workforce problems, analysing quantitative and qualitative data and advise on strategic direction. Secondly, to write and present decision proposals and pre-reads for (senior) executives.

  • You have experience from 1-2 projects having worked with strategic workforce planning or related long term planning initiatives will be a strong plus

  • You bring experience in facilitating workshops will be considered a plus;
