ROLE AND THE TEAM

As Principal Product Manager for Gift Cards, you will define the product vision for how customers redeem Gift Cards within our purchase experiences in Apps & Web. You will be executing against that product vision by building improved experiences and scalable capabilities, impacting millions of customers in a fast growing business area and shaping key experiences defining Zalando’s value proposition.  

As part of the Transactions product organization, you shape a core value proposition by solving one of Zalando’s most complex customer problem statements where you implement approaches that create win-win-win frameworks for our customers, partners, and Zalando. You focus on seamlessly integrating Gift Cards in our purchase funnel, improving operational excellence and customer conversion, and initiating the required accounting and financial flows to correctly reflect the transactions in Zalando statements P&L for our 25 markets in partnership with key stakeholders. You will provide thought leadership to and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, accountants, analysts and designers. You will work directly with the Director of Product to create the product strategy, and be the accountable leader for executing on the strategy with a high degree of autonomy, transparency, and resilience. You will collaborate closely with the Principal Product Manager responsible for Gift Card buying experiences. You utilize collaboration models and structures at scale, aligning closely with senior leadership across different organizations at Zalando such as Payments, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Customer Care and Markets .  

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Define the long-term product vision and strategy through customer obsession for our Gift Card redemption experiences and capabilities

  • Execute against that vision leveraging scalable frameworks for data-informed decision-making to resolve multi-facetted trade-offs 

  • Increase operational excellence and ensure being legally compliant by designing monetary flows and scalable capabilities ensuring the correct bookkeeping of Gift Cards values

  • Apply state-of-the art product craft, being customer obsessed working backwards from a target experience informed by data

  • Work in a cross-functional and dynamic team set-up, collaborating with leadership across Zalando 

  • Raise the bar and provide thought leadership for the Transactions product organization and contribute to the wider Zalando Product Management organization 

  • Define KPI frameworks and insights generation at scale (incl. experimentation) to shape our product roadmap and maximize the commercial value generated 

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Product leader collaborating in a cross-functional team set-up with 5+ years experience within product management

  • Experience in transforming customer and partner needs into technology products at scale (from idea generation to solution design and implementation/execution) gained in a highly technical environment 

  • Quantitative thought leader with a strong understanding of product methods and tools as well as statistical/analytical approaches 

  • Strong team player and collaborator who can excite others to contribute to innovate and improve our value proposition and key customer experience

  • Ability to transform distributed information into written narratives to inform decision-making paired with bar-raising storytelling capabilities

  • Excellent verbal communication to large and diverse audiences, up to the executive team
