ABOUT THE ROLE
Over the last years, we learned that solving fulfillment-related challenges for the good of our customers helps us to fuel the growth of our platform. With more ZEOS partners in Partner Program and Connected Retail joining our platform, we have been developing and testing additional further fulfillment services tailored to their needs. One of the biggest new applications is the ZEOS portal, a UI application that will be a container for multiple modules like reporting, inbound handling or returns management.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) at ZEOS, you will design technical solutions to extend our Zalando Fulfillment capabilities to external brands and partners. You will be not only contributing to our codebase, but also be a mediator between different stakeholders. You will work closely with product managers, backend engineers, designers and the portal team located in Sweden. You will have a strong influence on the system design, the user experience and the integration with the components from other teams. It is expected that you are mainly working on the frontend architecture, but that you will also have a good understanding of the backend processes and data models.
You will ensure that in an evolving network complexity, all our operational processes like warehousing, inventory management, inventory distribution, deliveries, returns, replenishment logics can be steered automatically and sensibly. You will have the chance to learn about the broad business background we’re working with. In line with the overall Zalando philosophy you bring visibility and transparency to processes and thus have a huge impact on our customers and key stakeholders.

Design, develop, deploy, operate and improve software solutions that have a direct impact on our daily business with our partners. Discuss and design UX, APIs and integrated solutions
Based on our microservices architecture, you and your team will own your code, and decide on the technologies and tools to deliver as well as operate large-scale applications on AWS.
Working like a startup in an agile environment & taking ownership for the whole development cycle - from architecture design to testing to implementation & maintenance. Write applications from scratch with the latest technologies free of your choice.
Shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You are a Typescript and/or Javascript developer with a genuine interest in these technologies. You have experience with React, and a plus is when you also have experience with Material UI. You understand concepts like micro frontend.
You have a good understanding of microservice architecture and API design. Good knowledge of security concepts. Have a good knowledge of test concepts. Highly versed in deploying and operating applications in a cloud infrastructure.
Have a good understanding of transactional databases and cloud architectures/platforms (preferably AWS). Check our Tech Radar for more information on the technologies we use at Zalando.
Demonstrated strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial & analytical thinking add to your excellent communication skills (fluent in written & spoken English is a must) and willingness to share knowledge within and outside the team.
