Could you please introduce yourself and your role at Zalando?
My name is Yujin, I come from Seoul, South Korea, and I work as a Senior Product Manager in the B2B Logistics department. I joined Zalando two years ago, where I worked on 'Return to Merchant' product initiative to allow our partners (merchants) to request their stocks back from Zalanado warehouse with a self-service.I spent a year there, helping automate the process, which made a real impact (to both internal teams and our partners). Last year I got the opportunity to move to the newly created Partner Experience team, where I work currently, building a new Business-to-Business (B2B) portal for multichannel fulfillment, and connecting network partners.
Could you tell us what motivated you to join Zalando?
I wanted to join Zalando mainly for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted to gain experience in a more global context, and Zalando has access to the massive European market, which peaked my interest. Secondly, I wanted to work in a more diverse culture where I could learn from people with different cultural and professional backgrounds. Apart from that, I had been working as a B2C product manager for almost eight years and I was becoming increasingly interested in the B2B sector.
What motivates you to be working at Zalando now?
For one, it is the diversity. We work with partners across Europe, and I find it exciting to learn more about our users' behaviors across different countries. I also enjoy working with colleagues from different cultures – it's a great learning experience. We're working on a B2B portal that aims to support brands and retailers sell their goods across different sales channels. We hope to provide the best experience to our partners, helping them efficiently and easily run their fashion business in Europe. It's an exciting journey.
Let's talk about Zalando B2B logistics. What team are you in, and what role does it play in B2B?
Our team is small but growing, often collaborating with the Engineering team from our Stockholm office. We value collaboration and support above all, and we work closely together. Our main function is to build the B2B portal for partners to make a meaningful impact on their businesses and provide solutions for their logistics needs. The Partner Experience team tries to ensure a seamless digital user experience for our partners with a truly ‘partner-centric’ mindset. We view our partners’ problems holistically, guiding them through their Zalando journey, while other pillar PM teams are focusing on specific areas with their domain expertise. My role involves conducting partner research, solving partner problems with digital self-service, to enhance partner interactions starting from partners using our multichannel fulfillment solution.
Why should someone want to join your team, and what would you recommend for our future candidates when they apply for Zalando? ?
I believe that anyone who wants to change the landscape of fulfillment services, wants their work to have a significant impact, and values a diverse and collaborative culture would enjoy working at Zalando!
