THE ROLE & THE TEAM 

This role is central to driving Tradebyte’s strategic sales growth by focusing on high-impact partnerships with prospects and leads, the establishment of operational excellence within the sales function, and the pro-active and future-oriented development of (global) market approaches/strategies. 

As a highly visible leader both internally and externally, the Director Sales is responsible for architecting and executing a sales strategy vision that prioritises quality brand acquisition and sustainable long-term value creation. This leader champions Tradebyte’s vision and value proposition across the organization and within the broader market.

Additionally, it serves as the go-to expert on market trends and opportunities, while also building a high-performing, culturally aligned sales organisation characterised by operational excellence in modern sales execution.

This role holds a dual leadership mandate, directly managing a team of functional sales experts while also leading a team lead with their own direct reports. Success in this role is predicated on strategic acumen, deep market understanding, and the ability to foster a culture of operational rigor and goal-oriented execution.

Key internal and external stakeholders include Giant Marketplaces (Zalando, the Marketplace Partnerships and Marketing teams to build a robust and qualified lead pipeline, ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality opportunities that directly supports Tradebyte’s revenue targets. 

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

Highly Strategic Leadership. This role is accountable for defining and executing a strategic sales plan that aligns with Tradebyte’s long-term business objectives. Success in this area is defined by the ability to:

  • Define and continuously evolve the strategic sales vision and strategy in alignment with Tradebyte’s long-term growth objectives, identifying where to play and how to win in the market.

  • Drive the strategic acquisition of high-value brand partners, focusing on quality and long-term revenue impact over volume.

  • Actively influence business decisions through data-driven insights and deep market intelligence.

  • Provide reliable forecasting for strategic decision-making, delivering accurate sales pipeline and revenue projections that support business planning and resource allocation.

Targeted Market Penetration. As the go-to expert for market insight, this role is responsible for identifying and unlocking high-potential opportunities aligned with Tradebyte’s strategic direction:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging market opportunities to proactively inform sales strategy and positioning.

  • Conduct robust market research and analysis to surface and prioritise the most promising brand partners.

  • Represent the sales function in key strategic forums and engage with internal and external stakeholders to position Tradebyte as a trusted market leader.

  • Collaborate closely with Marketplace Partnerships and Marketing to ensure the consistent delivery of a qualified sales pipeline, creating a reliable engine for growth and conversion.

High-Performing Sales Organisation. This role is critical in building and scaling a peak-performing sales engine that consistently exceeds expectations through people, processes, and culture:

  • Recruit, coach, and empower a high-performing team by fostering a culture rooted in ownership, accountability, and continuous development.

  • Enable and develop both sales experts and team leads, ensuring they grow alongside the organisation and are ready to take on future challenges in an evolving sales environment.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and role model across the team, sharing expertise, championing knowledge exchange, and driving a learning-oriented culture.

  • Implement modern sales methodologies and scalable processes that maximise efficiency, unlock resources, and deliver measurable results.

  • Establish clear KPIs and performance tracking mechanisms to ensure transparency, operational rigour, and continuous improvement in execution.

  • External and Internal Representation. Ability to represent Tradebyte internally and externally, serving as both a knowledgeable expert and a motivational figure. Creates and communicates a clear, compelling narrative that aligns with the company’s values and sales objectives, ensuring Tradebyte is recognised as a trusted leader in the market.

  • Market Acumen and Customer-Centricity. Deep understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem, including the relationship between brands, marketplaces, and technology providers. A strong customer-centric approach, with a focus on understanding the needs of potential brand partners and building mutually beneficial, long-term relationships that drive sustained growth.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making. Proficiency in using sales data, market insights, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions. Develops accurate forecasts, identifies areas for improvement, and optimizes sales processes to ensure consistent, predictable revenue growth. Ability to leverage data to make informed, timely decisions that positively impact business outcomes.

  • Results-Oriented Growth Mindset. Demonstrates a forward-thinking mindset and commitment to long-term growth, with a strong drive to achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets. Is highly resilient and  proactive in their approach to foreseeing and overcoming challenges. Holds themselves and their team accountable for delivering exceptional results that contribute to Tradebyte's success
