THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

As a Software Engineer in the Pricing, Product and Consumer Insights (PPCI) team, you will contribute and shape the development of ML forecasting models and data pipelines at Lounge by Zalando, following engineering best practices with a strong focus on operational excellence. 

In close collaboration with applied scientists and other engineers you will build, develop and maintain a wide range of ML-based forecasting products throughout the assortment lifecycle. These models are used on a day-to-day basis in business processes to make major steering decisions that are crucial for the business.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Develop and support automated, scalable ML and data pipelines, ensuring they run reliably and are scheduled appropriately.

  • Build analytical and operational dashboards to enable your team and stakeholders to make data driven decisions.

  • Enable the experimentation on ML models. 

  • Set up proper tooling to support best practices of ML model production, such as continuous integration/delivery, code/data quality, test coverage, etc.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have 2+ years of professional work experience with Machine Learning pipelines and ML Ops. 

  • You have strong programming skills in Python

  • You are proficient with state-of-the art software engineering practices

  • You have hands-on experience with relevant software technologies: Cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS & Kubernetes), relational database (Redshift). Experience with ETL, data warehouses or data lakes is a big plus (Airflow, DBT).

  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Pandas, numpy, Plotly, Jupyter Notebooks, Databricks) is desirable.

  • Experience working closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers.
