THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Buyer for Streetwear Lifestyle Apparel & Accessories Women, you are part of a high-performing and target-driven team. Through your extensive industry knowledge and passion for Streetwear trends & culture, you are driving assortment based on what our customers crave. You are responsible for managing Wholesale and Platform business for key strategic brands like Nike Sportswear and Jordan, working closely with our merchandising team, collaboratively shaping the future assortment. You also have close exchange with our marketing and onsite teams to create the most relevant and inspiring onsite content and experience for our Streetwear customers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You proactively own your portfolio, driving your brands' success within our Streetwear Lifestyle Apparel and Accessories team, reporting directly to the Team Lead. You'll collaborate closely with renowned brands, shaping future collections, identifying key industry trends, confidently placing big bets on main commercial success drivers, and negotiating top assortment, always having the customer in mind. 

  • Together with merchandising, you are responsible for defining your brand's seasonal strategy, including budget and assortment planning, whilst consulting the team lead and key stakeholders. In-season management, reviewing the performance of your brands, making recommendations, and taking numbers and commercially driven actions are part of your daily business.

  • You are a team player and a natural connector. You develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, always challenging and evolving the business to support the Streetwear Category and Zalando Strategy. 

  • Extensive knowledge of the latest Streetwear trends and emerging brands in Europe is a must

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have an extensive buying experience in a Head Office environment, preferably with a background in Streetwear.

  • You have excellent analytical skills, knowledge of Google and MS Office (especially Excel, formulas, and presentation), and you combine a passion for numbers with fashion and trends.

  • Negotiation is in your blood, and you are a strong communicator with suppliers and other stakeholders.

  • You have a proven track record of new business acquisitions and incentives that deliver results.

  • You have strategic communication skills, able to adapt to different levels of leadership.

  • Quick thinking and a proactive attitude are part of who you are, meaning you keep on top of things in a fast-paced environment, while embracing collaboration. Team-focused attitude whilst ensuring strong independent working practices.
