THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Manager - Sustainability Partner Strategy (all genders) at Zalando, you will join the centre of excellence for the sustainability of our product assortment. The responsibilities of this team include increasing the assortment of products with reduced environmental impact and circular attributes. This role focuses on supporting our brand partners and brand-facing teams towards our objectives - this position is a 12 months maternity cover.

Operating within our Supply Organisation, you will work closely with sustainability experts,  portfolio managers, customer experience teams as well as a network of brands and external stakeholders to ensure we guide Zalando’s assortment to a lower impact future

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Identify business opportunities involving sustainability that impact our collaboration with third party brand partners, keeping Zalando’s customers in focus.

  • Support the team in developing strategic opportunities by collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams, from expert sustainability teams to commercial or supply, as well as stakeholders at all levels (junior to higher leadership). 

  • Develop and manage operational plans with Zalando’s partner facing-teams when it comes to sustainability, driving key projects from ideation to execution while ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Monitor project performance and key business metrics, providing insights and recommendations to refine strategies and improve outcomes.

  • Ensure seamless pitching, coordination, and integration of initiatives towards internal and external stakeholders.

  • Have an interest for sustainability and an appetite for getting involved in some details

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

Must have

  • You have at least 5+ years of experience in business development, project management, key account management or operational strategy within large organizations

  • You bring a track record of managing and executing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across diverse teams.

  • You feel comfortable with getting into detail and can translate those insights to non-expert stakeholders by thinking big picture

  • You have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align teams at all levels of the organization.

  • You are highly analytical and data-driven, comfortable with using performance metrics to inform decisions. 

Desired (extra points)

  • Experience within retail, e-commerce or consumer goods and understanding of the key commercial KPIs and business model is an advantage

  • You have got experience integrating sustainable practices into broader business strategies
