THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a Principal Software engineer you will drive the technical strategy and execution of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems in our Brand Experience, elevating technical excellence and fostering a culture of innovation.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Within your team, you lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient solutions that meet business requirements.
Drive the transition from a monolithic to a microservices-based system, ensuring each service is scalable, maintainable, and well-documented.
Act as the primary technical consultant in the team for Product and Engineering Management, engaging in project planning and decision-making before project initiation.
Identify and resolve engineering challenges at the team, or area level, driving improvements with support from senior colleagues, principals, and architects.
Actively contribute to the Engineering Community, setting standards, advocating for technology choices, and championing talent development through mentoring and coaching Software Engineers.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have extensive experience in software engineering, primarily focused on PHP and MySQL.
Experience in architecting and optimising systems for web platforms that require high availability and performance, particularly in the context of e-commerce.
Proficiency in architectural and software development patterns, with the ability to apply and share this knowledge with peers and junior engineers.
Strong experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
Exposure to other programming languages and stacks like Python or Java.
Experience with monolith rebuild projects and service-oriented architecture is highly desirable.
Fluent in English, with excellent domain-specific communication skills.
Ability to simplify complex technical topics for business stakeholders.
