THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a multi-brand fashion company, we have been developing international fashion brands in the heart of Berlin, Germany since 2010. Zalando's Private Label assortment includes footwear, apparels and accessories for ladies, men and children. Our Private Labels also serve as our innovative fashion and materials that contribute to driving the change.
The Senior Sourcing Manager (all genders), you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for footwear and accessories lines. You are based in Dongguan, China to lead a team of merchandisers, manage suppliers' performance and relationships and ensure operational excellence of our supply chain and support our sustainability ambition on the ground.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Report to the Headquarters Sourcing Team and collaborate with Materials, Sustainability Operations and Ethical Sourcing Teams.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality and delivery timelines.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating terms to secure favourable agreements.
Collaborate with the teams in Berlin from Product Design & Development & Commercial to align on sourcing and production decisions.
Ensure compliance with ethical practice and sustainability standards.
Serve as a key communication point for Commercial and Sustainability teams, suppliers and factories regarding company strategy and ambition.
Provide Guidance to factories, track on factories improvement plans, and regularly report on factory status and results
Manage Sourcing and Strategic Projects in line with our company Vision / Operational Plan
Lead and mentor a team in the office to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF …
A University degree in Business or a related field.
10 years+ experience in sourcing and supply chain management in the footwear and accessories industry.
Strong communication skills and a proven track record of managing suppliers in driving cost saving initiatives.
Strong leadership and team management.
Knowledge of sustainability (Net Zero) in sourcing is an advantage.
