Zalando’s newly formed Inspiration and Entertainment venture is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead strategic and business development for our Creator Programme. This role is part of a new team at Zalando that will focus on embracing a new future, where every click unveils a new chapter in the evolution of online retail. In this exciting new role as Head of Entertainment Business Programme, you will play a key role in shaping the future of online fashion and lifestyle experiences for customers, and help partner brands and content creators succeed in telling their stories on Zalando. This role entails uncovering, distributing and driving innovation for our Creator programme, incubating new ways of working with creators and scaling them to maturity and commercial viability.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Business Development: You will develop comprehensive commercial and growth strategies aligned with the organization's objectives and our marketplace dynamics. Formulate annual plans based on market trends, historical data and insights – including revenue targets, cost forecasting, market/audience segmentation. Continuously assess internal dynamics and market changes to refine and adapt the commercial strategy.
Innovation: You will identify and assess emerging industry trends, technologies, and new customer behaviours to drive continuous customer- and partner-facing innovation in content creator formats and experiences and leverage insights to maintain Zalando's position as a leader in the industry.
Execution and Performance: You will lead internal and external stakeholders to execute strategy and plans effectively. Establish key performance indicators to track and improve the Creator programme performance. Monitor and analyze commercial data to identify trends, opportunities or areas for improvement, and ensure data-informed decisions. Utilize data insights to develop and optimize the marketplace logic, ensuring optimal visibility, engagement and benefits for content creators and partners within the Zalando ecosystem.
Cross-functional Collaboration: You will work closely with product management, design, engineering, and commercial peers to ensure a seamless integration of creators’s content into the overall platform.
Partnership management: You will design compelling offerings and enablement material for brands to work with our Creator Programme in collaboration with the partner-facing teams.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have proven experience (8+ years) in Consulting, Strategy or Business Development, preferably in the ecommerce/fashion/tech environment. Experience in entertainment, content development or social media fields is a plus.
You have a strong understanding of digital content creation, social media platforms, and influencer ecosystems.
You are curious and knowledgeable of emerging technologies such as generative AI in the context of online retail.
You gained experience in eCommerce and an understanding of online business models. You're able to take initiative, use good judgment, understand deadlines and carry multiple projects through to completion even with much interruption.
You are versed in compiling strategy papers and in presenting these to senior management.
You developed a proven high-quality problem solving and outstanding analytical skills in a previous role; already demonstrated good capabilities in managing cross-functional teams and diverse groups of senior stakeholders in matrix structures.
