THE ROLE & THE TEAM 

Our team is responsible for managing critical products essential to Zalando's continuous growth in the Size & Fit area. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead our Operations teams, responsible for generating and acquiring quality data that will help us not only to enhance our customers' Size and Fit experience but also to empower our partners with insights to make better assortment decisions. In this position, you'll take charge of our Fitting Lab and our  operations for internal data acquisition and generation (Ex: Size charts, 3D Scanning, etc), which is our innovation hub to try out new technologies and ensure we acquire quality data. You will lead a  squad of fitting experts and process managers. But that's just the beginning. You'll also craft a robust strategy and team framework to gather data swiftly and amp up team productivity. 

ABOUT SIZE & FIT

At Zalando we deeply understand that Size and Fit Matters, and are excited to use our unique and huge article and customer datasets to tackle this challenge using novel deep learning and computer vision techniques. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Lead and inspire a team of fitting specialists and process managers to achieve excellence in data acquisition and productivity.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to efficiently gather high-quality data crucial for enhancing customer Size and Fit experiences.

  • Drive initiatives to optimize team structure and workflow, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to leverage resources and insights, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data acquisition and process optimization, proactively integrating new approaches where applicable.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, nurturing talent and fostering professional growth opportunities.

  • Oversee the execution of data acquisition projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Size & Fit department and other relevant stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and alignment on key initiatives.

  • Design and analyze data metrics and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive actionable insights.

  • Represent the Size & Fit department in cross-functional meetings and strategic discussions, advocating for the team's priorities and objectives.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • At least 5 years of experience leading operational teams

  • Track record of successfully leading teams through transformation and being comfortable with a flexible environment where new ideas and processes are (re-)designed, optimized and implemented. Ability to upskill the organization and from whom Zalando can learn. 

  • You are a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented team player who is communicative and - most importantly - empathetic toward customers. We believe empathy is the best way to show our customers that we really care

  • You are fluent in English, at least B2 written and spoken

  • Background and experience. You have gained extensive work experience in the industry with a strong bias towards excellent daily operations; leading people and representing/executing a strategy.

  • Be able to fly high and dive deep in every dimension of the daily operations. You are a strategic business owner with an impressive analytical conceptual skill set.

  • You love to learn and discover new technologies and tools
