The City
Welcome to Europe's tech capital! The who's who of impressive international companies have their European offices in beautiful Dublin, so it's no surprise that you'll also find one of Zalando's Tech Hubs here as well. Not far from the River Liffey, the office is located on Windmill Lane, once home to the famous Windmill Lane Recording Studios, often referred to as "Ireland's Abbey Road". Established in 1978, it has become a legendary place in the music world with iconic bands and artists such as U2, The Rolling Stones and Kate Bush recording there. The Irish love music, and many nights you can hear traditional music jam sessions in one of the city's 750+ pubs.

Our Office
The Dublin Tech Hub office is located in the vibrant Docklands, a modern waterfront district with picturesque restaurants and cultural attractions. Nearby sights include the Grand Canal Dock for scenic views and waterfront dining, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre for entertainment, and EPIC - The Irish Emigration Museum.

The area is well served by public transportation and offers easy access to outdoor spaces such as Merrion Square Park and St. Stephen's Green, making it a vibrant and convenient place to work and explore.

Our Teams
The Dublin Tech Hub is home to a variety of different teams working together to create greater impact:

The Global Catalog team creates the flexible platform that underpins the scalable sourcing and delivery of product-related data, enabling Zalando to merchandise and ship products and continuously improve the customer experience.

The Product Data Quality team consists of applied scientists and engineers who work together to understand, enrich and improve the information that Zalando has about the products it sells, so that our customers can easily discover products they love and make purchase decisions with confidence.

The Customer Identity & Data team is the source of truth for customer account, identity and behavioral data at Zalando. By creating large-scale services that use this data to create better, more tailored and personalized experiences for users. This contributes to Zalando's Inspiration & Entertainment initiative by enabling all our teams to create exciting, inspiring and entertaining customer experiences using the most relevant and customer-centric data available.

The Personalization, Recommendation, Search and Browse (PRSB) team takes full ownership of the customer experience from end to end. In collaboration with teams in other locations, they have worked on high-profile projects such as the Dynamic Page System and Trendspotter features, and have received widespread recognition for their achievements.

The Product Design team leads complex design projects and transforms innovative ideas into tangible customer experiences. Specializing in user research, workshop facilitation, UX and UI design, the team owns the catalogue in the core purchase journey and has also worked on Trendspotter and Zalando Assistant.

The Global PMO team focuses on coordinating the company's highest priority and most complex projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment and consistency, and supporting the successful delivery of these strategic initiatives.

The Information Security team is responsible for ensuring the security of customer, employee and company data through the protection of IT assets, early detection of IT security incidents and vulnerabilities, and rapid response and recovery. This team also provides high-quality security consulting to support and protect Zalando, its customers and partners.

Many of our Dublin teams collaborate with members, team extensions, and stakeholders across different teams and various Zalando tech locations. By utilising digital communication tools (such as Google Chat, Google Meet, and email), along with collaborative platforms (like Jira and GitHub), they maintain both clarity and productivity across locations. Teams in different regions participate in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions to align on initiatives, track progress, address blockers, and plan next steps. Periodic cross-location visits are also arranged, allowing for in-person meetings that help strengthen relationships and build trust through team-building activities.

Our Working Environment
The Dublin Tech Hub is a blend of professional growth, collaboration, and community-driven fun. There are weekly lunchtime yoga sessions to help employees unwind mentally and physically from their busy work schedules. There are many regular events that help improve employees' work-life balance and provide opportunities outside of projects. Events have included charity bake-offs, Strava challenges, a family day with children's activities in the office, mental health talks, a volunteer tree planting day, an employee relay race, Easter egg hunts, and various meet-ups.

Beyond these events, our office fosters a fun and collaborative culture with weekly software engineering demos, friendly pool and table tennis games, Mario Kart tournaments, and jam sessions in our dedicated music room. Every month we gather for a Dublin All Hands meeting, where teams share their highlights and learnings, followed by pizza and drinks.
