Fulfillment Core is all about inventory – and about the promise that we give to our customers. As a Research Engineer at Fulfillment Core in Dortmund, you will be working on building a giant map of how our inventory can be moved across our fulfillment network. You will be working on predictive models that allow us to know what inventory levels we can expect at any given time in any location within our network. You will carry a lot of responsibility working on systems highly critical to the business and have plenty opportunities to make our customers even happier.
Variety. You design, develop, deploy, operate and improve important software solutions that possibly impact millions of customers.
Autonomy. Based on our microservices architecture, you and your team will own your code, and decide on the technologies and tools to deliver as well operate large-scale applications on PaaS/SaaS cloud (AWS).
Ownership. You and your team will work like a startup and take ownership for the whole development cycle - from architecture design to testing to implementation and maintenance.
Excellence. You will join a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standards when it comes to the quality of your code and implementation. You will add value by leveraging current trends in software design, architecture and web services.
Technologies. You have experience in applied machine learning and know at least one of the following methods in depth (regression, tree-based methods, ensemble learning). Apart from only applying these methods in practice, you also have a good understanding of the mathematical concepts that are frequently used in machine learning (linear algebra, probability theory).
Prototyping. You are eager to prototype new machine learning concepts and are also willing to push them all the way to production. Ideally, you have already worked with big data frameworks before and have experience building production systems at scale (experience in Java is recommended).
Code Quality. You are ready to deploy your code to production (including testing, CI, deployment) and taking ownership.
Education. You have a degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or another similar quantitative field (PhD, M.Sc.) and are eager to keep learning and applying new knowledge.

Our team in Dortmund started as a specialist unit handling everything that relates to Payment. Here we develop our monitoring systems, collaborating with payment service providers to find innovative ways to create the most user-friendly checkout experience possible. We continuously add new areas of competency, with teams now focused on the tech challenges connected to mission-critical topics including consumer incentives, inventory management, transportation, fulfillment and stock valuation.
