As Product Analyst in Fulfillment Core in Dortmund your playground is all the data about where our inventory is and how it moves through our fulfillment network. You will ensure that we are looking at the right data and derive insights from it – insights that will enable you and the team to make data-informed decisions. You will have big impact on how well we can serve our customers and make them trust us even more.
As part of a product team that owns the vision and purpose of how we handle inventory you will work closely with autonomous engineering teams that live up to the standards of Radical Agility. Along with our guiding set of principles - Autonomy, Mastery, Purpose - we entrust you and your team to shape the future of Zalando.
Variety. You fetch, correlate and make sense of data from a variety of different data storage technologies, from the Fulfillment Core systems as well as from all other relevant products. You work with many different teams to understand their data to the fullest, support them in improving their data and help them make insight-enabled decisions.
Ownership. You will own important metrics that help the whole organisation to understand how successful we are and how we can improve. You will be the advocate for data-driven decisions and are always able to provide insights that possibly impact millions of customers.

Expertise. You have a “feeling” for numbers and a strong business sense. You are able to understand which questions really matter and how to translate them into experiments and hypothesis. You have experience in running A/B tests. You are familiar with the statistical tools that enable you to turn all of this into insights.
Communication. You effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms. You are a true team player and inspire others with your work.
Technologies. You are experienced in using statistical and data access languages (R, Python, SQL). You know your way around analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microstrategy, Bigquery) and are Google IQ certified. You know the ins and outs of performing analysis with large datasets.
Education. You have a degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or another similar quantitative field (PhD, M.Sc.) and are eager to keep learning and applying new knowledge.

Our team in Dortmund started as a specialist unit handling everything that relates to Payment. Here we develop our monitoring systems, collaborating with payment service providers to find innovative ways to create the most user-friendly checkout experience possible. We continuously add new areas of competency, with teams now focused on the tech challenges connected to mission-critical topics including consumer incentives, inventory management, transportation, fulfillment and stock valuation.
