At Zalando Digital Experience (DX) Hub Lisbon, we are are bringing the most inspiring and engaging customer experiences together. As a Product Designer (UX), you are a member of Zalando's Digital Experience Partnerships team and you are on the leading edge of innovation on the Zalando platform. You screen, advise and integrate external partners with innovative new fashion experiences into our core product -- the Zalando’s online fashion platform serving 22 million active customers. Your work will help leverage platform power to deliver the most innovative and individualized experience for each individual fashion customer.

Within Zalando DX, you will work with many autonomous teams that live up to the standards of Mastery, Autonomy, and Purpose. Along with our guiding set of principles, we entrust you and your team to shape the future of Zalando.

YOU WILL SET STANDARDS

As a Product Designer (UX), you will help us open up the Zalando fashion platform to new experiences while ensuring quality and consistency of the user experience.

Set the stage. You help design the framework -- right from the start -- for integrating a wide variety of features from partners. Any type of interaction -- whether a 360-degree product view, a sizing tool, or a wish list -- should be able to seamlessly fuse into the Zalando experience. You provide experience metrics and logic for automatically steering whether to show the partner solution or the Zalando standard for the best-individualized experience for each particular customer.

Guide. You consult partners (mostly startups) in understanding the Zalando consumer segments and technical environment, delivering customer-centered solutions to our high standard of quality. You will measure your success through the partner NPS and the pass rate of partner solutions through design governance -- yet be expected to fail from time to time because you are pushing the envelope.

Govern. Tell partners clearly what works and what doesn’t. Allow -- even encourage -- innovation, yet draw the line when the customer experience will clearly suffer. Serve as the bridge to our Design Fundamentals governance team to ensure unified experiences. You consider not just the visual & experience integration, but also who it would serve and how it would fit into the overall journey of a customer at Zalando.

Validate. You will perform a variety of assessments -- from expert reviews to UX studies to A/B tests -- using proven methodologies to ensure that partner solutions succeed and deliver customer satisfaction.

YOU ARE SKILLED

To land this job you will show and explain raw artifacts from various stages of the design process, demonstrating both your well-rounded experience and your stand-out skills.

User-centered. You have the methods and skills under your belt to ensure that our business and development partners walk in the customer's shoes and see through the user’s eyes.

Convincing. You can effectively sell interaction design best practices to stakeholders at all levels of understanding -- from design-unaware business people to highly-experienced designers.

Structured. You know how to best structure and package integration guidelines, interaction pattern libraries, component libraries and other design system tools in a developer-centered way to ensure proper implementation.

Collaborative. Your communication skills and empathy help you to succeed in your daily work with multidisciplinary international teams and diverse startup partners.
