As an Engineering Lead for our Advertising Optimisation team, you will lead our Zalando Audience team in Hamburg which handles Advertisement Optimization. You will be responsible for our state-of-the-art, real-time optimization of advertisement and content. You will collaborate with Scientists, Engineers, Business Owners as well as Sales, Operations, Analysts etc. to revolutionize data-driven optimization of advertisement campaigns. You will also collaborate with a wide range of teams in Zalando to continuously improve our company-wide data-driven optimization culture and infrastructure. You will pioneer data/evidence driven optimization of business at Europe’s largest fashion online retailer.
Vision. You will act as a sparring partner for our Business Owners to shape the vision of our advertisement/content optimization. You will also be deeply involved in campaign performance measurement and consumer insight generation. You will act as a bridge between technology and business. Should you desire, you will also proudly represent Zalando at conferences and meetups and give technical talks.
Leadership. You will grow, empower and guide your team, helping them to champion business value creation and technical excellence. You will stimulate and inspire the team, while helping them staying pragmatic and achieve the highest possible performance.
Execution. You will champion all phases of software development life cycle including product vision, functional analysis, development of technical requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment and support.
Collaboration. You define OKRs with your team. You will facilitate collaboration, communication and decision-making between different engineering teams and stakeholders. You will partner with a wide range of contributors/stakeholders to create a unique, revolutionary reporting solution.

Domain expertise. Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Product. Ability to understand our clients and our business strategy. Sense of entrepreneurship and product management and stakeholder management. Ability to facilitate collaboration between diverse contributors.
Leadership. Leading, coaching and mentoring software engineers and data scientists. 3+ years of experience as team lead working on complex data-driven products.
