In this newly-defined role you will grow the Product Design team at Zalando Lounge from 3 to 10, ensuring the right mix of designers (UX, UI), researchers and other relevant skills to deliver best business value and push forward the organization’s design maturity.
You will lead the team to deliver coherent high-performance designs for all digital touchpoints at Zalando Lounge -- designs that anticipate proven user needs and deliver sustainable customer satisfaction.
Zalando Lounge is an online shopping club for fashion and lifestyle products. Launched in March 2010 by Zalando, we have quickly become the top supplier for various labels and fashionable luxury brands at reasonable prices.
You will report directly to the Head of Technology for Lounge, have a dotted line to the VP of Product Design at Zalando and engage regularly with an inspiring group of peers in the design leadership circle.
Design Leader. You craft a holistic product design vision for the whole business at Zalando Lounge, lay out the strategic roadmap and make sure the team achieves challenging outcome-based goals.
Inspiring Expert. Your design work inspires also non-designers to follow your direction to drive and evolve the product with a customer-centered focus.
Guiding Light. You ensure a unified experience for our users by managing our corporate identity and translating it to the look and feel of all interfaces across devices in a solid design system. Through insightful collaboration with engineering and product you foster an inspiring design culture and a meaningful creative space.
Role Model. As an experienced leader, you are great at inspiring and encouraging design culture and teams in an agile or lean environment. You understand what capabilities you need to empower the design and research team -- and how to mentor them to grow better and make more impact.
To land this job you will show and explain raw artifacts illustrating your design leadership experience and tell stories that demonstrate both your product design know-how and your exemplary people skills.

Leadership. You connect the dots and prioritize the next steps to develop the offerings and interfaces further.

Execution. Solving tricky design problems and transitioning ux design into product design, connecting and aligning brand design into your holistic design approach without losing the impact hands-on design execution.
Inspiring peers. You will join a leadership circle boasting more than 8 digital product design managers across Zalando. You and your team will network with a fast-growing, highly diverse and astonishingly International Product Design Community of Practice.
