At Zalando Payments, we are processing all financial transactions of Zalando’s fashion store and other consumer-facing apps. Within Zalando Payments, you will be part of a self-organized delivery team and work with many ambitious and skilled autonomous teams building and operating our highly available microservices that control the payment flow from checkout to refund. Some of these services are processing highly sensitive data like credit card or bank account information and are running in an environment regulated by authorities (e.g. PCI DSS). As a Producer at Zalando Payments, you will be responsible for efficient and smooth agile development processes. Your focus will be on non core engineering tasks for successful end-to-end delivery and operation, fostering a healthy team spirit and a communication culture within and outside of the team.
Autonomy/Facilitation. You facilitate decision-making processes within and as a team, empowering functional team autonomy, living a communication culture and assuring a healthy team spirit.
Transparency. You ensure that teams are aware of and document external project dependencies, deliverables, and roadmaps and communicate them accordingly in order to establish and maintain transparency with stakeholders on the engineering side. In collaboration with members of the product organization, you track product performance with given key performance indicators.
Purpose. You ensure target orientation in the team and cultivate focus that leads to a successful end-to-end delivery of releases and products.
Mastery/Agile Coaching. Through the use of the right agile methodologies for the needs of your team, you ensure that an efficient and fitting organizational workflow is in place. Together with the team, you establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge exchange.
Communication. You have strong communication skills and actively drive projects, breaking down complex problems into manageable, structured work packages and effectively manage stakeholders and third party expectations. You thrive in an international environment and are fluent in verbal and written English.
Inspiration. You inspire and motivate the team, driving them to get things done and lead by example. You are able to bring a team together to craft a joined-up plan, you understand risk mitigation and dependency management. You make informed decisions by always weighing the situation and alternatives.
Agile. You have 1-3 years of agile software development or agile software project management experience, ideally in an e-commerce or payments company and sound knowledge in managing and supporting software development processes.
Structure. You have effectively managed feature and requirement documents, project management documents and team roadmaps. Activities such as backlog grooming, task prioritization, OKRs, roadmap management, daily standups as well as user stories, Jira, product/feature mockups and processes diagrams are in your DNA.
