Zalando is transforming from Europe’s largest online e-commerce retailer to a multi-service platform providing fashion as a service. Our aim is to build superior experiences and options for consumers whilst also enhancing reach for merchants and fashion brands through a platform business model. This role will place the successful candidate at the very heart of Zalando’s transformation where you will play a key role helping our stakeholders migrate from the old world to the new.
Our teams are self-sufficient and develop products end-to-end, from requirements to production. We are a group of software engineers who collaborate in order to create and innovate unique solutions to complex technical and product challenges. Specifically, this role is a perfect match for an individual with significant experience building and supporting large 24*7 systems built with Java, who wants to transform a business and their skillset by moving to a cloud-based microservices architecture using Scala.
Our existing technology stack is comprised of Java 7, Java 8, Spring, Postgres, JUnit, Cucumber, SOAP & REST APIs. These are the key skills needed today. The platform has a cloud-based microservices architecture and is comprised of leading edge technology such as REST APIs, Scala, Spark, Python, Kafka, Play, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker amongst others.
